Impressive experience at the snake farm

Welcome to our first „official“ blog entry. Yesterday we made a visit to the Queen Saovabha memorial institute, a snake farm in the middle of Bangkok. They develop antidotes and medicine with the snake poison there and for a small entry fee of 200 baht you can watch the living snakes and learn about the animals in a museum. At the end we were able to watch a show and got to hold a big snake. It was a once in a life time chance and we were absolutely impressed by the animals. The snake farm is active in several fields. They have the educational and touristic purpose with 40000 visitors per year as well as a medical or scientific purpose by researching for new pharmaceuticals. We think nothing like this exists in Germany, although we think as a touristic business it would work. Of course the medical approach wouldn’t make sense in Germany. All in all we had a great day and would recommend the place to everybody coming to Bangkok.
Welcome to our blog
Hey guys, this is our blog we created to share some of our impressions with the „thai way of life“, we were able to gather during our semester abroad in Bangkok. We will especially upload content about our experiences we had with Thai businesses, for instance how we purchased goods and services. It’s also our intention to find possible improvements for those businesses and relate them to comparable German businesses. In the end we hope to create a small impression for our readers to enable them to understand differences and commons about the economy here in Thailand and the one we know from home.
Kind regards,
Alex, Chris and Sebastian
