Who we are, what we do and how we were created...

Each of our elephants has a unique personality and disposition yet they all share the same history. They have been in our family for generations, from when they transported teak logs for our ancestors in the Mae Sariang District to their time spent entertaining tourists to today. We began Into the Wild to ensure that our elephants, who have become members of our extended family, could continue to thrive and live comfortable, happy lives after working hard for so many years.

Before joining us at Into the Wild, our elephants spent their days giving rides to tourists as well as providing entertainment. We recently established our camp with their well-being in mind and they have returned to their natural habitat, the serene jungle of Northern Thailand, At Into the Wild, the elephants are free to do what they love most as they roam the vast forest, play contentedly in the refreshing river and enjoy their long lives post-retirement.

We are Anna (22) and Lisa (21) from Cologne, Germany and are currently studying Media Management at the Faculty of Communication Arts at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok. As we would like to share some other kind of travel experiences regarding an unusual, impressive and typical Thai business, we decided to create this blog. 
​
Besides attending university in Thailand we also like to explore the surrounding sights offered by this beautiful country which recently brought us to a little, chilled-out city called Chiang Mai. It's located in northern Thailand near the world famouse Mae Hong Son province and is famous for its hipster, hippie vibe. As Thailand's north is also well known for its elephants we decided to visit an ehtical correct sanctuary. Thanks to some friends, we were recommended the very well-rated and known elephant tour named "Into The Wild". As it's a business which strongly focuses on the elephants health and pleasure, we chose to give it a try1
